Joseph McGraw Fighter Ace W W 2 - March 16th, 2015
Joseph Dennis (Jo Jo) McGraw born 17 Nov 1923.. Commissioned as an ensign after fight training July 1943 - age 19. Assigned to the USS Gambier Bay to fly FM-2 Wildcats.. His squadron VC-10 saw combat in the Marianas and Philippines during the summer and fall of '44. Later in Oct the USS Gambier Bay was sunk by Japanese cruisers and his squadron was assigned to the USS Manila Bay.. Was the only pilot of his squadron to become an ace and 1 of only 5 aces to score flying the FM-2 Wildcat. .. He has 5 confirmed victories..
Sent him 2 photos on 4 Feb and got both back signed on 16 Mar.
